In May, we spent back to back weekends in camping happiness. First, we journeyed south to Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park where we met up with some friends from San Diego. Then, we went north to a private campsite near Manchester State Park.

On our drive down to Big Sur I noticed my friend Sarah posting pictures of McWay falls and other Big Sur sights. This was strange because Sarah lives in DC and I have not seen her in several years. Through the magic of social media, however, we ended up finding out that she was staying just one more night and was in fact at a site about 5 spaces away from ours!  It really is a small world sometimes.

We spent the weekend with some friends from San Diego. They had a big group (around 24 people) who all drove up and since the mudslides have still made Highway 1 impossible to drive from the south, they took 7-9 hours to get up to Big Sur. They all agreed, however, that it was well worth it.

Their trip included days golfing and visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Ryan and I were lucky enough to join them on the weekend for some beautiful hikes and great campfire fun!  Our good friends Jason and Chelsea ended their amazing vacation by getting engaged in a beautiful place!  We could not be happier for them.

The following weekend was Memorial Day Weekend. We booked a camp site through Hipcamp.com and spent the weekend in the Paddocks of a sheep farm near Manchester, CA.   Stay tuned for that post, coming soon...
