After a bit of a hiatus due to some really crappy health issues, we are finally back in the game! The weather is amazing and The Mountains have been calling.

This weekend's adventure was exploring
Samuel P. Taylor State Park
with a special guest appearance by Julie Frechette.

Samuel P. Taylor State Park is 2,882 acres of Redwoods and beauty with great campsites and picnic areas along the Lagunitas Creek about an hour and 15 minutes North of us. We choose to do an easy 2.7 miler this time as we are just getting back to the whole mobility thing.

The Pioneer Tree Trail is 2.7 miles with only 300 feet elevation change and great switchbacks through the old growth forest. It brought us to the Pioneer Tree (shown above)

California has 118 State Parks. That is amazing! This year we purchased the Poppy Pass which allows us access to all of the State Parks and a few other perks. It cost a pretty penny but we plan to get our money's worth out of it don't you worry. Stay tuned for much more adventure in 2018!
